If u r plannig to apply for canada PR in the next 12 months then do not sit for IELTS right now. According to latest changes applicants must sit for General training IELTS & it is valid for only 1 year.ozcan said:Hi guys,
Wow. You only need to get 7's and 6.5's to get full points for English. That's sounds very promising, under current Australian points test system you need to score 7 or above in each of the 4 sections of the IELTS test in order for you to claim extra poins , which means if you get 9,9,9,6.5 you would fail .Moreover, starting from July 2011 you would need to score 8.0 in each of the 4 sections of the IELTS test, which is crazy. I know for a fact that even some native English speakers won't be able to achieve that score and they expect someone from non-eglish speaking country to do it.
I think there will be a flood of applications from prospective immigrants once new points system is in palce.
Anyway, I am hoping to submit my application for Canadian PR in the next 12 months.
BTW, how do you convert your IELTS score into the actual points ?
Could someone provide a brief explation in a form of coversion table of some sort.
Thank you very much.
i applied on 15 oct 2010 as a dentist....dont know how long i have to waitozcan said:Hi Dr. Hasib,
I really appreciate your reply buddy.
Thanks for the tip about IELTS, but unfortunately i already had my IELTS and got 8's and 9's.
Well, i will need to do it again then, damn... I will need to pay the fee again
What's your story? Are you still waiting for your PR?
I can apply for Australian PR but prefer Canada. It's much bigger, plus closer to the US. But most importantly people are a lot more friendlier than in Australia.
