Hi all: My common law partner (a Honduran national) and I (American) are waiting for our passport requests from Buffalo. Here is our timing:
AOR received: April 2006
Initial response received: April 2007, interview waived
Medicals completed: May 2007
Requested documents (except FBI clearance) submitted: June 2007
- submission included clarification that my partner's biological son who is physically in Honduras would accompany us to Canada
Medical forms for son received: June 2007
Medicals for child received in Ottawa: July 5, 2007
FBI clearances submitted: August 2, 2007
We submitted a certified translated power of attorney from the child's biological mother consenting to him accompanying us to Canada.
I am just wondering whether anyone has any thoughts as to whether we should be getting our passport requests soon. We were really hoping that we would be hearing within the 1-2 months everyone else seems to be hearing, but I don't want for us to delude ourselves if we are in a special category for adding the child to the application. We are waiting anxiously.
Thanks in advance.
