How long should it take to get a final decision from CIC?

Hi everyone,
I have applied for permanent residence 8 months ago through Express entry. They asked me for additional document (Canadian criminal record) and I uploaded it (that was 5 months ago). So far, I did not get any new messages and waiting for a final decision. By the way, I am currently living outside Canada. However, in CIC official website, they mentioned that the process through Express entry is much faster; takes just 6 months.
May any of you explain the situation?
Regards

The regular processing time is less than 6 months. In some cases, like yours, it may take much longer and there is no way to generally tell how long it is gonna be. It sounds like that you are under additional criminality and security check and unfortunately this may take several months to a year.

I would suggest you to send them an email, call them or raise an CSE to ask for the current status of your application. If you have friends in Canada, you can ask them to request the GCMS notes of your application on your behalf through the Access to Information Act.

Much thanks Doge. My Canadian criminal record is clean and I have no problem. Do you think IRCC web form is suitable for my case. However, they usually respond after a while with a neural response. I was working in Canada this summer and I attached my work permit pdf in the IRCC web form, but they responded after one month with a neutral e.mail (something like recorded reply).

Hello Doge,
I did sent a message through the web form and they replied within 6 days that my application is still in process. That is it. Any other suggestions or telling about similar cases and what happened to them.
