How long it takes to get the complete process done?

I am planning to apply for citizenship in Sep 2013 .When can i expect the complete process (getting citizenship and passport).

CIC are quoting a 21 month processing timeline for 80% of applications that are routine i.e. no concenrs about residency which really means apply if you have 1095 days of physical presence in the 4 years prior to application date. This timeline applies if you are not issued a residence questionnaire and are not scheduled to see a citizenship judge.

CIC have closed local offices and reduced staff numbers to save a few million dollars a year. These cuts are now filtering through to lengthier processing times so who knows where we'll be next September. Till then keep proof of your physical presence in Canada in particular notices of tax assessments and keep a detailed record of your entries and exits into Canada.

Also note that you must have PR status until oath day so make sure you maintain the Residency Obligation.
