How long is the wait to get an appt to land at CIC Office?

Hello Everyone.

My wife received her CoPR last week (Wednesday). She is a US Outland applicant currently visiting me here in Canada.

She called the CIC office to make an appointment to land in Calgary last week and they told her the wait time is about 3 weeks. The agent also mentioned the local Calgary office will call her to schedule the appointment. We have not heard back yet and are curious/anxious to get the call back...

Does anyone have experience with this? Should we be calling back?

We aren't sure if it will take a week or two to hear from the CIC Calgary office and then they will schedule an appointment shortly after, or if we should have got a call last Thursday/Friday and they would have scheduled an appointment 3 weeks out.

We realize we could flagpole, but would rather do it here at the local office.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Hi Tom,

Call them back!! I think we have waited enough ;)
If you don't have luck I would just drive down to the nearest crossing.. I can't wait to be done with this stuff!

Question for you:
Did you check eCAS? Any idea how long it took from DM until your wife got the COPR?
Was your sponsorship application status online changed?
We are in a rough boat; my sponsorship status still says in progress, but my hubby's PR is DM with no new info.
It's worse knowing there's a decision and not having access!!

We booked via the cell center as well, and received an e-mail from the Halifax office 2 days later with our appointment date/time and what paperwork to bring with us.

Thank you canus77 and iiiEllie,

We are tied up the next bit and are trying to avoid the border crossing route and prefer for the Calgary office interview. It has been 3 full business days since my wife called, but we are being patient for the callback.

Did you need to bring photos with you? We got 2 new photos this past weekend that meet the new requirements since our original application was during the old photo requirements.

Anyone else have any experience with the Calgary office? Landing as a PR there?

canus77... just to answer your other questions:
It took 8 business days between receiving DM on ECAS and getting COPR. My sponsorship status still says In Process... I wouldnt worry about that.

I am in MB.
I called CIC to make app for landing, and he said WPG office would call me.
but they did not and I received a mail 2 weeks later that contained my app. date and what should I bring.
They asked me to come with my spouse and bring 2 photos for pr card.

My appt. date was scheduled 4 weeks after I phoned CIC.

Hi Floomy,

Thank you for the info. That is the first time I heard of a mail out... but great to hear about the variety of ways it can happen. Hopefully we don't have to wait 4 weeks, but I wouldn't be surprised.

Congrats to you on your PR!

Hi Tom,
I hope you work it out to get an appointment soon! We've all done enough waiting. ;)
We just got CoPR (13 days after DM was posted).. just making plans for landing now.
Cheers!!

Well... this morning we received an email from CIC Calgary with our landing appt. It took about 2 weeks from our phone call to CIC to receive any correspondence back, which was frustrating, but we are happy to finally have a date.

Our appt is in early April, about 1 month after we first called in. This isn't real fast, but we aren't overly surprised and look forward to my wife validating her CoPR and starting the next steps :)
