How long is the visitor visa valid for?

Hello everyone,

I am applying for my friend for a visitor visa, but he wants to come here around July, should I apply for his visa now, or should I wait? how long does it take to process the application? Please help

Rule of thumb is you can apply for a tourist visa 3 months before the intended travel date. I was given 3 months on my single-entry TRV the first time I applied. The VO might grant 3 or 6 months single-entry for a first-time applicant.

To be safe, your friend can apply next month.
