I have been married for 6 months! / we have been together for 1.5 years since making face to face contact and over all 2.5 years (checking our first online convo).

Every time I see that timeline, I wonder to myself how it went so fast. No doubt about it, Taylor Swift's song "Mine" is definitely about us: hubby "made a rebel of a careless man's careful daughter".

I met my common law partner in 1988 at my sisters engagement party. He is my brother-in-law's cousin. We started dating in February of 1989. We dated until Nov of 1989 (I had just turned 20 and he was 24). We went our separate ways and I got married in 1993. My marriage broke down and we separated in 2001. In 2002 I started talking to my common law partner again and in 2003 we were committed to one another and have been together ever since.
