how long does work permit take after sponsorship?

I am wondering how long it will take my partner to get a work permit after we apply for sponsorship. Is there a difference whether we apply as common law partners or if we are spouses?
Thanks!

It matters if you apply outland or inland. If you apply outland - no work permit. if you apply inland - the open work permit will take about four months to arrive.

Hello forum experts and seniors,

I have the below questions related to PR spouse sponsorship and visas ( Visiting visa and work permit visa)
your answers will help me a great deal.

1) After applying for spouse visa outland and after sponsor approval (2 months) , can my wife apply for a visiting visa. If so is CIC liberal in visiting visa durations or just a month or 3 months?

2) After applying for PR spouse visa outland for my wife, Can I apply for an open work permit so that she can join me sooner and not wait until the PR gets processed completely ?

3) To apply for a open work permit for my wife, should I first apply for her dependent PR and then work permit visa
OR
Can the open work permit visa be processed separately without initiating the PR dependent visa?

4) Is the rejection rate for visiting visas particularly high for thos who have applied for PR dependent visas?

Thanks and Regards
Ron

You can apply for a TRV, but you still have to satisfy the officer of her ties to her home country. With a prior refusal, it will be difficult.
Open work permits are only available to inland applicants.

Your spouse does not qualify for an open work permit. If your spouse wishes to work in Canada before PR, she will need to obtain a full time job offer in Canada along with an approved LMIA from the employer - and then apply for a closed work permit tied to that specific employer.

how do you find a job with an LMIA? what kinds of jobs and where should I look?
It's generally extremely difficult since most employers aren't willing to go through the cost, paperwork and waiting time to obtain an approved LMIA - unless you have very specialized skills or experience. There's no short cut or secret or type of job to look for. You just have to keep applying and hope you get lucky.

Hi,

What is conditional PR ? outland spouses are eligible for that ?

I think you're posting in the wrong thread. Your question doesn't make sense. If you are asking a new question - please create your own thread rather than crashing someone else's.
