How long does it take to get PPR after pre-arrival letter using the PNP stream?

Hello guys,

I got the pre-arrival letter on Dec 2nd, 2022, and a confirmation that I passed the medical examination on the same date. Biometrics was waived because it was recently done when I applied for a work permit in 2021. As a matter of fact, the biometric fee which was initially paid with the application fee was refunded on Dec 6th. To date, I am still waiting on the confirmation of PR. It's almost 2 months now. Kindly advise appropriately. Do I have anybody in the same condition?

background checks and security tends to be the thing that happens even after you get PAL- it's normal to have a couple of months gap between PAL and PR approval.

If you applied in Sept 2020, you are way passed the average processing time, which is now 21 months. You can now send a webform to CIC and asked what is happening with your application because the processing time has been exceeded. Even better, if you are inland, reach out to your MP and they will do it for you and get an answer quicker.

Agents on the phone told me they can't do anything with my application because I am within normal processing time. So, phone, send webform or contact your MP. (or do all three)
