My federal skilled worker app has been sent to Buffalo back in Sept'06. Still no word from the authorities. Nothing... Has anyone filed at/around the same time? Did you get your receipt/file number? Thanks! Canadienne(WannaBe)

Usually it takes 1-2 months to get the AOR. For me it took 1 month.
Let's wait for other members expert advise (like PMM)

Thank you Egyman. I worry more and more. My application was submitted by my immigration consultant, in September, according to him. I never got anything from him to prove it. His initial prognosis was 2-4 months from submittal to get the file number. It's been over 5 months now. I start losing trust in him. The mail receipt and fees payment receipt (he was the one who was supposed to pay my appl. and Right of perm. residence fees) will only be sent to me when he comes back from extended business trip, he says. To justify the delay of my getting the file number he points out that new simplified application was put in effect in September 2006. He says the visa offices are flooded with applications, that's why I still have nothing from them.
Do you think it would make sense to try and contact the Call Center to figure out where I stand (while I wait for him to return from bus. trip and track my package)?
Thanks! CWB

Yes I think you should call but it would be better to have the tracking number of your package to help them find it.
But you will lose nothing if you called them now may be they will give a file number and let your worries go down.
Best of Luck

I think your immigration consultant is misguiding you regarding SAP. Because Simplified Application Process is not applicable to Buffallo.
Please ask your consultant for a postal receipt (or courier recept) just to make sure he has really made the application or not. Then you can call Immigration Office to confirm about your application.
Thanks

I've gone through ups and downs in my correspondence with imm rep. Emailed Buffalo - they don't have my application. The rep is out of the country till next month and his explanations do not sound very convincing. I gave him until April 15 to provide me with Fedex receipt and MO receipt, he also promised to check everything himself when he comes back. If no positive result by April 15, I'm going to seriously start thinking about myself.
Thanks to all who replied, I'll keep you updated.

Thank you kormad.
I've already asking them questions about my consultant. If I eventually decide to file a complaint, I want to be sure that I have the right guy. So far his name is in the list of members in good standing...
