How long does it take to get a PR card once I land?

I recently got my CoPR and PR Visa sticker in which it is given that the date of entry to Canada should be on or before coming April (2016). In the Canada immigration website it is given that the PR requirement is only that I have to stay in Canada for the next 2 out of 5 years. I was wondering if can I do the following?

Come to Canada and stay until I get the PR card. Once I get the PR card I go back to my work outside Canada for the next 2 years and then come back and stay permanently in Canada? At present I am working on some projects outside Canada, and would like to finish it before I move to Canada.

If this is possible, how long would I have to be in Canada initially before I get my PR card? Is there a requirement on amount of time? Please do let me know if this is possible.

Yes - you can do as you've planned.

It currently takes 84 business days + mailing time to receive the PR card after you land in Canada.

Do I need to stay in Canada for these 84 days? Or can I travel outside, and can have them mail the card to me outside Canada?

You can leave Canada. However CIC will not mail the card outside of Canada. CIC will only mail the card to an address within Canada.

Thank you very much for your answer, it was very useful.

So I can goto Canada, spend a week finishing the forms and then can leave and get someone to mail the PR card to me. Right? That sounds good. Also, during the PR card processing time, can and leave and come back to Canada, right? That sounds great.

Once again, thanks a ton for your help.
