How long does it take to apply for the citizenship for the kid born outside Canada?

I am Canadian, I have applied for the citizenship for my kid in last Oct, but it is still in progress, can you please advise how long does it take to be complete?

Processing is often around a year. If you need to travel back to Canada urgently there are some other options.

My kid was born outside Canada and the application was approved the next day. Just send for urgent processing and write a letter of explanation.
