How long do you have to send passport to London Visa Office

I am currently living abroad and will be returning to the UK once my application has been in process. I will have a 3 and a half month gap between sending it and returning to the UK and I am just worried, that maybe they will request the passport whilst I am still abroad. I just wondered if anyone knew how long you have to send the passport once they have requested it. Also, is it more than likely that it still won't be reqested by this time?

Hello,

The passport request letter I received from London said we had 45 days from the date on the letter to send my husband's passport in.

It took around 2 months from when the file was transferred for them to request the passport and only a little over a month from when it said 'in process' on ECAS.

I think our timeline was quite quick so it chould be longer than that.
