How long do I have to apply after leaving my job?

"Your work experience must be gained within two years of the time you applied"

I want to be clear on that. I have started working on Jan 2011 and finished working Jan 2012.
how long do I have to apply? till jan 2013 or 2014?

Thank you. it says "apply while working in Canada or within one year of leaving your job in Canada"

6 months I was working outside canada but I was under payroll. since the time you were not in canada would not be counted as your experience in canada, am I tight in time in in order to apply? here is my case:

started working january 2011
february 2012 to Aug 2012 I was working from outside Canada.

my 1 year starts from the time I left canada or from the time I left my job? how long do I have to apply ?
