How long did it take you to receive AOR from the local visa office?

Hello friends,
I am interested to know how long it took you to receive AOR and the new file number from your local visa office afer you submitted your full application. I submitted my full application in person on April 17th and have not received anything from them yet. Please share your timelines. No need to mention your visa office name though!

I'm anxiously waiting for the AOR after full application too. I submitted mine on April 4th to New Delhi (since different visa offices follow different procedures, I think it'd be better to mention them).

I received my new AOR from local visa office last May 26, 2009. I submitted my documents last May 4, 2009. So it took around 3 weeks for mine to arrive. But i know it will still depend on IO to act fast.

Yes, it seems that some visa offices (including New Delhi) send the AOR along with medical and other requests whereas some others (such as Buffalo) only acknowledge the receipt. Mine is kind of late so I try to be optimistic and assume that they are processing it before they send out a letter. My special problem is that I cannot log in using my Sydney file number to see what is going on!

i sent my documents march 27 received aor may 26 stating that they have received my documents may 14. those who received aor with medicals are few, most of them are from india.

Document sent 1st May 2009
AOR from Singapore 14th May 2009
the letter says average processing time is 6 months.
I wonder if different visa office has different processing time.

I had the same issue of not being able to log in to e-cas. Did u try my suggestion in another post? I'll paste that here.

I was in the same boat till today, i.e., I couldn't log in to e-cas at all and was worried about it. I have two names and both of them are given in the surname/family name field in my passport. If yours is like that, try giving both/all names in the surname field in e-cas. The Identification type is 'Immigration file number' which is the number starting with 'B' you have received from Sydney, NS. Good luck!

BTW, if it's any solace to you, the novelty of looking at e-cas wears off in a day or two when you see the same status again and again For instance, in my case, I can see the status that 'Visa office eligibility review is complete' since May 13. That, according to the website, means a letter has been sent to me. But there's no mention as to when it was sent which makes it rather useless info and just adds to my anxiety because I know it will not take 15 days for a letter from ND to reach me, if you know what I mean. So, here I am...

Thanks for the info. I tried all possible combinations but it still does not log in! I guess there might be a problem in my bio info when they entered it into the system, a spelling typo for instance.

So it seems that there are people waiting longer than me to receive the second AOR! The instructions for immigration officers issued by CIC however, say that local visa offices must acknowledge the receipt of full application withing ONE MONTH and provide the applicant with the new B# and estimated processing time. But I see that some offices like Buffalo do not give an estimate whereas some others like Singapore state a 6 month waiting time.

I sent my full application to new delhi on 23rd April 2009 and have not heared anything from them.
