How long can I stay in Canada if visa extension gets rejected?

Hello everyone!

I applied for visa extension, my original ends on Feb 16th. I want to extend my stay until May 31st, and booked tickets for may 10th. My question is, how long can I stay if my visa gets rejected? Can i wait until May 10th, or should I rebook to earlier date?

If your extension is refused then you should aim to leave within 30 days of receiving the refusal. If you overstay, this may complicate future entries into Canada.
