The question is in the title.
I just want to know approximate times and what to expect.

Also, I see people keep talking about the RQ. It is my husband who is applying for citizenship. He has been out of the country quite a few times over the last 4 years but each time to either visit family in the UK, max of 2 weeks, or vacation to the US. Thats it. he still meets the residency requirements.
Why do people have to complete the RQ?

Thanks!

two separate things
residency requirement ( to maintain one's PR) is 2 years in every 5 years
to qualify and apply for citizenship, one has to be physically present in CANADA for 3 years or 1095 days
so if CIC issues a RQ at the stage of applying citizenship then the reason being is that they are looking for 1095 days

hope this helps
Forum Veterans kindly correct me if i am wrong

Thanks! By residency requirements, I meant he has been physically present for at least 1095 days.
So he is probably unlikely to be asked to complete an RQ?

Any idea on the title question?

A guesstimate is one year for Sydney to issue the Citizenship Certificate, and another few months for the passport.
