Hope all are doing well and thank you in advance to responding. My oath is approaching, I am an Indian passport holder. Once I apply for my Canadian Passport, how much time do I have to surrender my Indian passport as there is no dual citizenship with Indian passport. The reason I am asking this question is because I recently got my UK spousal visa on my current Indian passport and once I receive my Canadian passport, I will need to transfer the UK visa from the Indian to the Canadian passport. I have spoken to a UK lawyer and she said it is possible to transfer, but both passports need to be active to apply for transfer of Visa from one passport to another.
So knowing that India does not accept Dual citizenship, will my Indian passport be active until I surrender it and even after applying the Canadian Passport?
