How hard is it getting a bar/retail job in Toronto?

Probably reasonably easy. However, obtaining an approved LMIA in support of a work permit might be much harder.fish123 said:

Thanks for the replies! I'm already in the process of obtaining my work visa, but his LMIA is new too me.
So when I do head over to Canada, you're saying that I need an LMIA if business wants to look at hiring me (to avoid fees etc)? and it is hard to get an LMIA due to it being hard to prove that no Canadians are in for the same position?
Surely for something as simple as a bar job it wouldn't be that complicated?

You need to provide more information. What kind of work visa are you obtaining? Is it an open work permit - if so, on what basis do you qualify? Is it a working holiday visa / IEC?fish123 said:

If you just fancy a quick romp around Canada, that's fine and a bar job will do. However, if you are thinking of long term plans to immigrate into Canada, you might want to consider a more appropriate employment that would lead to CEC and points for Express Entry. Up to you, of course...
