It all depends. I have a US degree and I am living in Quebec. My degree is in History, which has nothing to do with my profession, but I would say that it has definitively helped me get hired here. Employers see it as part of the big picture: Experience, education, language ability, talents, interests etc. For some professions, such as education, your degree may be recognized in Canada, but you will need to get Canadian certification.

I have been workin with Canadian company in USA for the past 10 years, Received MS and MBA in a top 50 USA university. I consider myself as completely assimilated with the culture here. I started a successful non profit. I hope these will be good factors to be considered when I am looking for a job there.
