Hi everyone. My Post Graduate Work Permit will expire in June 2017, and I am planning to go back to school for September 2017. I am trying to stay in Canada and continue work at my current job until my program starts in September 2017. How early would I get my study permit in advance? Do I have to leave Canada in June and come back again in September?

Any inputs are welcomed.

Thank you

The most important thing would be that you will have to stop working in June 2017 given ability to work on a study permit would not be active until you start full time education in September 2017. Working between June and September would be considered illegal so you will likely need to change status to visitor for that period to remain in the country.

There are no specific rules that I am aware of on how early you can apply for a study permit assuming you have the offer from the college and declare you are currently on a PGWP which as you know is a one time thing.
