How does your employer count your work hour?

It's only say live in caregiver's basic salary is $8/hr, thes is my work shift
6:30am weak up and walk the dog
7am to 9am, make breakfast for the kids, ask the kids get ready for school
9am to 3pm my free time
3pm to 7pm, bring the kids home, have snacks, doing homework, making dinner
after dinner usually take them to the activity
then send the kids to bed then my day is done.

It's says over 40hr then should get pay overtime, if I only babbysitting the kids is also call overtime?
If my employer and the family go on vacation and I don't do anything, do I still get pay 8 hour a day?

I wonder how are you guys live in caregiver get pay from your work?

Your employer is good...
you have free time from 9am to 3pm...

My employer has never counted my work hour...no overtime payed.
from 7 am -7pm or latest to 9pm.
feed the kids, drop off and pick up from school, take them to the activity, give them a bath, housekeeping,...
When they come home, my work is done...
