How does applying "outland" while inside Canada work?

Hi everyone, I want to say thanks in advance for all your help. This forum has been invaluable when it comes to having my questions answered quickly and thoroughly.

So, I've got my police certificate, just had my medical sent off (to Mississauga), and got all my photographs together. I am ready to send my application in. I have a few questions.

1. I will be needing to send in my extension application for my temporary visitor status very soon. Do I mention on that application that I have applied for PR outland? Or should I just mention that I have applied for PR?

2. The selections on the outland application for interviews are all locations in the U.S. Can I request an interview in Canada, or maybe note that I would like to request an interview in Canada if I am still in Canada as a temporary resident when/if the time comes for an interview? Or should I just go to the U.S. and have my interview?

3. I imagine re-entering Canada after my interview (if I have to go to the States for it) would still be up to an immigration officer after this, do they find it "sneaky" or unethical to be applying outland while living inside Canada?

Thanks again, everyone.

1. I would mention you applied for PR status and include a copy of the payment form and tracking info if you have it (or file number). Folks have reported it is helpful.

2. You'll have to go to the US (unless things change significantly with CPP-O) since you are applying through the US. Interviews are rare, though, so you may not even need to go to the US (usually only for cases where they question the relationship or need to clarify something major on the application; they do have some random ones, though for program integrity reasons)

3. No, it's not sneaky - in fact CIC encourages it themselves (take a look at important - read this before applying section for inland applications).

Good luck :)
