How do you know your PR package was received?

hi guys – I sent in the application and it was delivered two weeks ago. My fiances CIC account doesn't indicate that anything is active online.

I am worried because I didn't fill out that personal information on the receipt of payment that I attached with the application. How will we know they have started processing our application?

Hi

They didn't update my info for 4 month, if you sent the application express post with tracking number than you can check on the Canada post website , i don't think there is anything else you can do. (i was worried too , but when we called them they said they 4 month behind schedule. (This was in 2012 march)

Crazy - how long dod it take to be approved as sponsor?

I know it was received by CIC, Canada Post tracking shows that. What I am worried about is how they will associate that package with my fiancee's case number? Just the receipt is enough? Her name, etc?

Right now, the CIC website says 69 days processing time for stage 1, working on apps received July 12th. But these times are rarely accurate. We applied back in march and it took 110 days for stage 1...apparently they had a huge backlog, and there were some apps sent to Ottawa for processing to help them wade through the backlog.

You can call, but they won't give you any information about your application until you have passed the number of days posted on the website...in this case, 69 days. If you haven't received any communication from them after 69 days, then you can call them.

How does your fiancee already have a case number? Did she have or apply for a temporary resident visa before?

she applied for visitor visa extensions... so maybe case number is not the right phrase. but she had a CIC user account online.

Her UCI number will stay the same then. You'll also get issued and application/file number. You'll be able to use both to log on to eCas once your file has been started.

right.. I thought so. My original question popped up because I realized I didn't actually write down her UCI number anywhere on our application, not even on the receipt where there are fields to put it in.

I am hoping they will be able to piece it together. Any thoughts?

Shouldn't be a problem. They'll figure it out. We applied for a TRV for my wife about 5 months before we filed for residency. She was refused the visa, but was issued a UCI #. Once we received sponsorship approval for her residency, the UCI # was the same from her TRV application, and we didn't put that on the residency application. They figure it out, no worries.
