HOW DO YOU CALCULATE FOR CITIZENSHIP ELIGIBILITY WHILE WORKING ACROSS THE BORDER

Hi All,
Does anyone here work in the States and wanting to apply for citizenship? How did you calculate your own absence especially if you work twice a week across the border? Please your experience or how u applied. Its a straightforward calculation when you work here in Canada than when u work in the States.

I'm not one of those working across the border but here is what I think.
If it's a one day trip and you return to Canada to spend the night at home then you don't count any of those trips, if you spend the night in US then it's an absence for as many days as you stay there.
