How do I prove my relationship?

Hi all,
I am currently in the process of applying for my Canadian study permit. I have completed the questionnaire and I answered that I would not be accompanying a parent or legal guardian, as I will be traveling to Canada alone and will have a custodian there. However, they also asked if I would be accompanying a family member with status in Canada, to which i answered "Yes", as I have an older sister living in Toronto (where I will be studying) under a work permit, which counts as "status".

On the documents page they are asking me for my custodianship declaration form, which I am able to provide; however, I am also being asked to provide a document "Proof of Relationship". I am unsure of what to provide, as almost none of the example documents listed apply to me — documents like a marriage certificate or a document naming me as parent. One of the documents that seems to be possible to provide is a birth certificate, and I am assuming they are asking me to provide my sister's birth certificate (?) since she is the family member with status I will be accompanying. Am I correct?

Just in case I was rambling, I basically want to know what document to provide under "Proof of Relationship".

Thank you very much for your help!

There are number of ways to prove sibling relationship.

1. Provide National ID card, birth certificates, passport or any other identity documents that has parents' name included.

2. When your sister went to Canada, did she provide your name in Family Information Form? That may make it easy. She can provide a letter stating her detailed information along with your relationship and her plan to sponsor/accommodate you.

3. Is it possible to get any Document of Inheritance of your parents from a government office of your country which includes the names of your brothers and sisters?

4. As a last resort you can get write a letter stating about your sister's status in Canada, notarized and counter signed from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of your country because they may have the information if your sister leave for Canada from your country.

Try to include both 1 & 2, rest are not strong evidence.
