I actually have done BBA (3Years) & Msc in Mass Comm, Advertising & Journalism (2 years). However, in ECA report it says - Bachelor's degree (four years) and postgraduate diploma (one year). While, I was filling the "Education History" section of Canada express entry form and I have following questions where I need help:

1. Do I need to mention the details about both the degrees or just the higher education i.e. post grads?

2. If I have to give details for both the degrees, then am I selecting the right ‘Field of study’, as the options given are too broad??
  • a. For BBA – Business, Management, Marketing and Related Support Services
  • b. For Msc in Mass Comm, Advertising & Journalism - Business, Management, Marketing and Related Support Services
Here is the complete list:
  • · Arts, General (Humanities/Social Sciences)
  • · Arts, Fine/Visual/Performing
  • · Business/Commerce
  • · Computing/Information Technology
  • · English or French as Second Language
  • · Flight Training
  • · Hospitality/Tourism
  • · Law
  • · Medicine
  • · Science, Applied
  • · Sciences, General
  • · Sciences, Health
  • · Trades/Vocational
  • · Theology/Religious Studies
  • · Other
  • · Agriculture, Agriculture Operations and Related Sciences
  • · Architecture and Related Services
  • · Biological and Biomedical Sciences
  • · Business, Management, Marketing and Related Support Services
3. For the field ‘Complete/Full academic years’, do I need to mention the actual years of study for each degree or the years that ECA reports says?
  • a. For BBA – actual 3 years, however ECA considered it 4 years
  • b. For Msc – actual 2 years, however ECA considered it 1 year.
4. There are 2 times the ‘Level of Education’ is asked – please let me know if I am choosing the right options at the first time:
  • a. For BBA - Bachelor’s degree or other programs (three or more years) at a university, college, trade or technical school, or other institute
  • b. For Msc - One year program at University, college, trade or technical school, or other institute OR should I mention - Master's degree or professional degree needed to practice in a licensed profession
5. Level of education (Canadian equivalent) shown on Education Credential Assessment (ECA) report Your ECA report will tell you if your foreign education is equal to a completed Canadian degree, diploma or certificate. You must have the results of an ECA report to answer the question. Is this the correct info I am putting?
  • a. For BBA - Bachelor’s degree or other programs (three or more years) at a university, college, trade or technical school, or other institute
  • b. For Msc - One year program at University, college, trade or technical school, or other institute
6. City/town of study – I was in Pune doing MBA and along with it my college also got MSC course in Mass Comm, Advertising & Journalism from Punjab Technical University which is based out of Jalandhar. So, it was a duel degree. However, only Punjab Technical University degree was considered by ECA.
So, what should I mention in the ‘City/town of study’? – Pune or Jalandhar.

I understand these are so many questions and I am getting mixed answers on various blogs. So, can someone please help me with the concrete answers I should choose?

Thanks in Advance :)

Answers are in purple. This is based on what I know through my application, so I did my best to answer your questions

While, I was filling the "Education History" section of Canada express entry form and I have following questions where I need help:

1. Do I need to mention the details about both the degrees or just the higher education i.e. post grads?

I have both a Bachelor of Science and Masters. I received ECA reports for both, so I mentioned both degrees.

2. If I have to give details for both the degrees, then am I selecting the right ‘Field of study’, as the options given are too broad??
  • a. For BBA – Business, Management, Marketing and Related Support Services

  • · Architecture and Related Services
  • · Biological and Biomedical Sciences
  • · Business, Management, Marketing and Related Support Services
Since it is broad, I wouldn't worry too much. As long as you aren't picking a category that is completely off such as Medicine, you'll be ok.
I mentioned actual years of study. My ECA report did not specify the amount of years. It only said the degree earned, and year awarded.
4. There are 2 times the ‘Level of Education’ is asked – please let me know if I am choosing the right options at the first time:
  • a. For BBA - Bachelor’s degree or other programs (three or more years) at a university, college, trade or technical school, or other institute
  • b. For Msc - One year program at University, college, trade or technical school, or other institute OR should I mention - Master's degree or professional degree needed to practice in a licensed profession
a. is correct
b. depends what the ECA considered the Masters degree. Did it consider it a one year program or a Masters degree?

As the question states, it must match the ECA report. I can't tell it is correct without seeing your ECA report.

You can always add a letter of explanation that it was a dual degree with cities.

I understand these are so many questions and I am getting mixed answers on various blogs. So, can someone please help me with the concrete answers I should choose?

Thanks in Advance :)

Hopefully someone else can answer because I'm not sure. As I stated earlier, my ECA listed the Canadian Equivalency but without the amount of years next to it.

Hi all,

I have the following query:

--->My ECA report equivalency is the Master's degree. The report has two pages: one for masters(Canada equivalency: Master's Degree) and one for a bachelor of technology (Canada equivalency: Bachelor's degree (four years)) but the WES summary says: "master's degree" on the first page.
In this case, should I have to enter both bachelors and Masters in Education History field of Express entry profile?

-->Moreover, my bachelors start and end in 2008 and 2011 respectively, which is 3 years. I skip my first year of Bachelors, because as per Punjab Technical University, If you did 3-year Diploma after 10th, then you get direct admission to 2nd year.
In this scenario, what should be complete/full academic years: whether it is 3 years as I completed 6 semesters in Bachelors or 4 years as given on WES report, and official length of B.Tech from PTU?

-->Do I also need to Diploma certificates, but these are not evaluated by WES?

Thanking in advance!
