My 11 month old daughter and wife live in Dominican Republic. I live in Canada.
Around Feb or March,2020 I went to the Canadian Embassy in Santo Domingo,DR to apply for my daughter's Canadian citizenship certificate. I gave them all the required documents. They told me the process would take at least 8 months or more to be completed.
They asked me where they should send correspondence,and I told them to send it to my wife, because logically she lives down there with our daughter.
The problem is my wife nor me has received any correspondence for about 10 months now and I'm kind of worried. I'm wondering if they have sent my wife a letter to her adress and my wife hasn't seen it or the letter didn't reach it's destination.
My wife and daughter live in a rural area, and the roads are difficult to get into.
I'm wondering if there is just delays and they haven't sent anything yet. Apparently they send correspondence saying they received the application. My wife hasn't even received that.
How can I find out the status of the application?
Would the Canadian embassy in Santo Domingo know the status of my daughters application?
Or can I call IRCC? Would they have this info over the phone?
