Hi Everyone,
I applied for my Permanent Residency in November 2019 after I was approved for the BC Provincial Nomination program under NOC 2171- LMIA-exempt. I have about 8 Months leave to complete the given processing time by CIC (18 months) and my current work permit expires in 2022 but I was permanently laid-off due to COVID. My employer claims there is not enough work to keep me employed. So, I would like your help in identifying solutions to this problem.
I would like to know if I am able to apply for an Open work permit since I was laid-off due to COVID. If yes, how can I go about it?
I am actively looking for another job to obtain another job offer but that would only result in another closed work permit and I would hate for this to happen again.
I look forward to reading your replies and thanks in advance for the help and your time.
