Hi all,

I am completing my spouse questionnaire and found that at the end of the form it says include any additional that may prove ur relationship is genuine and continuing.
And I looked it up online and realize many people said that this is the very important part of the application.
However, I have already included how our relationship develops when I was answering Q9 on the form. and also to this form I will be attaching all the pictures, plane tickets, trips or outing evidence, letters, messages that we sent each other in the past, So are they enough?

Or that can anyone give me an idea of what are the other possibilities that the extra evidence or details they may be looking for? for example, like a relationship Essay?

Thanks for reading and replying in advance!

We took the advice of another member and created a timeline for each month of each year that we have known each other. We outlined our visits and if there were significant outings, like weddings, parties, holidays etc...

It was pretty lengthy because I have known my husband since June 2007 but for us we felt this was the best way and the most straightforward way to portray our additional information.

Others have written essays and that works too. Do what feels right for you guys. This question does not have a set structure...it's left to the applicants to decide how they want to answer.

I can't wait to look back at it after 10 years...this is a positive thing that comes from this process, we have a novel of a story about our love life... Couples living in the same city/country for sure do not have this novel in as much detail all in one package.

Good luck with it! :)

This depends a lot on what nationality your spouse is. If from a western country, a lower burden of proof is required. If from a country with know high rates of fake marriages (Africa, Middle East, China, India, Pakistan, etc) then provide more proof, including writing an essay.

hi, for us we did an essay type. for my hubby's (applicant) essay, he more or less talked about what we enjoy doing together, our plans and dreams, how he thinks we are meant to be... for my essay (sponsor) i basically summarized our rel'p from start to present from my point of view. it may seem like it is the same as the "dev't of relationship" but for that section it dealt with facts like activities we did, trips, ocasions, etc. for my essay it was more subjective.. i divided it into sections like meetin him for the first time (how i saw him that time), dating phase (why and how i fell in love with him) , getting engaged, why i feel he was the one for me, rel'p issues we had (me converting to his religion), married life ( things we enjoy doing) i also talked about my first meeting with his parents, our dreams and plans for the future, i even wrote there the number of kids we want and their names ! lol :) ..in short it was a more personal view on the development of relationship.. i read much on the Canlii website (appeal cases) and I have come to know from there that VO's do really look into and give weight to how well you and your spouse know each other's personal details, attitudes, daily routine, future plans, etc. in assessing the genuineness of your relationship , so it really helps that you talk about those stuff .

hope this helps :)
