You can know if an officer is working on your application by checking for updates in your application status. Some key indicators include:

1. Eligibility Review Started - This means an officer has begun assessing your application.

2. Background Verification (BGV) Progress - If there is a change in your BGV status (e.g., in progress or completed), it indicates movement in processing.

3. Ghost Updates - If your application status updates without visible changes, it may suggest that an officer has accessed your file.

4. Request for Additional Documents - If IRCC asks for additional documents, an officer is actively reviewing your case.

5. Decision Made - If your application status changes to approved or refused, it means an officer has completed the review.

Regularly checking your GCKey or IRCC tracker can help you monitor these updates.

$$ If eligibility has not started and BGV is in progress from day one, it usually means that no visa officer has reviewed the application yet.

BGV in progress from the beginning is a default status and does not necessarily mean that actual background checks have started.

Eligibility not started means an officer has not yet assessed your financials, ties to your home country, or purpose of travel.

Once eligibility starts or is marked as completed, it confirms that a visa officer has actively reviewed your file.
