How can they verify your job?

Salam guys. I was wondering, what is the CIC's method of verifying a candidate's employment? I mean do they contact by calling the employer and do they ask for additional documents from them? And what might those documents be? Do they verify everyone's employment or only the one's that they think are suspicious?

They can call them but additional documents are not required, but usually job is verified when it is the requirement of ur proposed study like MBA...
