How can I speak to someone at Immigration Canada

I was wondering if there is an active phone number, that I can dial to speak to a real person at immigration Canada? To ask some questions?
It is very tough to find one?

I have called them several times with questions. There is a long wait sometimes, but they are helpful enough. Here is the toll free number for within Canada 1-888-242‑2100. Good luck

I have NEVER got through to them! Kind of annoying. Everytime I call, it puts me on hold then hangs up on me. Repeatedly. I've tried once for about 2 hours and nothing. It's very difficult. Some people report being able to get through with persistent trying, but ive never had luck.

Keep trying. Worked for me a couple of times. Sometimes it hands up on me and sometimes it works.
Put your phone on speakerphone and just sit back and relax. Once it hangs up on you, call again.

yeah. Its just such a pain going through all the options to get hung up on. Ah well.

try calling first thing in the morning, and I have been told that if you understand enough french to go through the options (or memorize them!) then try going through the french system - at the end, the agent will speak both english and french most likely, but because of the ration between english and french speakers, it seems easier to access the french part...

I woke up at 6 am PST once and decided I needed to call CIC. Guess what, an agent picked up on the first ring ;D

Call early morning Canada time. I called them last Friday at 8:00 a.m. and I got to talk to somebody in less than 15 minutes.

You have a better chance of getting God on the phone then you do CIC. Of the 50+ times I have called I have gotten through three times. The first time I was given the wrong information the second time I was told they couldn't help me and the last time I was told Ecas would be up and running in 48 hours which actually took another 9 days.
