I recently lost my mother to kidney failure and I would like to invite my father and my brother to Canada as they are the only family I have left. Is there a way for me to invite them both to Canada with me? I know that the current sponsorship law allows me to only sponsor my brother if he is under 18 & fully orphaned.
for context: i am a married Canadian National doing well for myself in Toronto.

They can visit or brother can visit or come and study. If you are PR and meet LICO, father can come on a supervisa. Brother cannot.

So, the best path forward for both of them is to apply for a visit visa and hope for the best??
Is meeting LICO absolutely necessary when applying supervisa?

What do you mean hope for the best? They can apply to visit for up to 6 months but not live or work in Canada. It is based on their ties to return (job letter with approved leave, school registration, income properties), travel history and their own funds. You can write a letter of invitation. Sponsorship is not an option right now. It is lottery based on your income and hasn’t been open to new profiles since 2020.

LICO is mandatory. Supervisa is only available to your date if you meet LICO, he passes medical and gets one year of health insurance.

How old is brother? Best path is for him to study in Canada.

By hope for the best, i meant that the visa isn’t guaranteed so we would either be approved or rejected.
my father has his own construction business back home + owns a couple properties and my brother(21) is almost done w his bachelors degree. What are their chances for approval given that my mother has recently died and they want to be with their family.

I cannot tell you chances. Both need to show ties to return. With your dad, he shows business registration and contracts to return. Your brother shows job letter with approved leave. Travel history is to the UK, US, NZ and/or AUS. Funds is cash in the bank. Enough so they don’t spend all their savings. How long was visit?

Meeting LICO is mandatory for a super visa. Otherwise your father needs to apply for a regular TRV.

I would suggest let your brother complete the bachelors degree and then look for work experience for 2 - 3 years, it's not bad to start Masters degree as well, by doing so 3-4 years from now your brother will be in a good position to apply for immigration himself plus he will get the family points because of you in Canada and that will make his case for PR/immigration more strong, however for your father your best bet would be either visit visa or a Super visa!
