How accurate is the processing times?

From what I noticed on this forum and what I heard from IRCC, these processing times aren't really accurate even though they update them weekly. Personally, I applied on August 23rd from France and provided biometrics on September 2nd. For France, processing times is currently estimated at 8 weeks from the date you did biometrics.

oh so the estimated time is from the date of biometrics? I applied in June and did the biometrics in 1st of September and the estimated time here is 22 weeks :( So 22 weeks from september and not june?

My university told me that the processing times should be from the time you submitted biometrics so from September in your case ☹

Waiting 22 weeks, processing time was 8 when applied. Application was actually processed and approved after 5 weeks as gcms notes showed, but as all results on hold since 18 march, processing times are a joke.

Since no results of applications have been issued since 18 march which is 30 weeks ago, you can see immediately processing times are a farce.

As far as I can understand a desition is already made or was made for some of us that have applied months ago but the IRCC is not going to issue the final desition yet because of the travel restrictions still in place.
My guess is that after the "DLI Covid approved list" is published, applicants will start to receive their desition, and most probably students whose university/college is on that list might get their desition first. DONT take my word seriously! It's just my theory and I could be wrong

I think it’s highly possible. Hope it doesn’t take IRCC officers a month to see which students go to which school and issue PPR accordingly lol

I think its highly unlikely that IRCC will sit and segregate applicants by their DLI's, eventually all DLI's will be on the list since it will continuously updated. They will most probably start giving out final decisions and the student can travel if their's is on the list.. My guess. Really hoping they sent out decisions soon !

Yaa it’s also possible. I’m just worrying about they won’t issue decisions very soon since there’s a second wave. What if they were just giving us false hope to comfort international students? I don’t know just my guess, I’m thinking very negatively ...... but LETS HOPE FOR THE BEST

I really do not know why international students are problem. The mean age of death toll is 83. You have more chance of dying in street by car then dying because of covid. Right now, every country is fucked up so what is matter with border restrictions, there is no escape really,

Seems like a perfectly logical explanation, hope that’s how they are going to deal with this situation

Logic has played no part in IRCC decisions this year. Just look how US students are treated compared to the rest of the world. Just look at how families have been treated. Just look at what has happened to people who begged IRCC to let relatives in before they died and IRCC refused to let them in.

Yaaa we don’t think we are a problem, but they think we are a problem. That’s the thing. If they don’t think we are a problem, why they put restrictions and not issue visa? Some people in this forum have waited for 10 months for their visa. That’s really insane.
