How accurate is the current PGWP processing time from inside Canada for single applicants

The official site is saying 171 days on average as the processing time for work permit from inside Canada. I believe it is way too long and no company wants to hire people on implied status.

Does the type of application play any role on the time, for example, complex applications like family ones take longer than single applicant ones?

I applied for my PGWP as a single applicant on October 23rd. Got approval on November 21st, along with an ETA although I'm inside Canada .

You got very lucky. Most are waiting close to 6 months

Yes, I'm quite fortunate when I consider how long other applicants have been waiting. However, the international student office at my school advised that almost all the graduate students from my cohort got theirs approved within 2-4 weeks.

Maybe the process masters/PhD students faster.

Most of the PGWP cases on this tracker seem to be taking a few months to process, one of the more recent ones moved faster than the ones submitted earlier in the year: https://myimmitracker.com/en/ca/trackers/consolidated-work-permits-tracker

Also most of the applicants there are pretty much alone, no family / dependents. Maybe compare and see for yourself if there’s any trend in who gets it faster? It looks random to me
