Dear Seniors,
I need your guidance about the available resources for the resolution of the housing problems on expedite bases - as a tenant - in Montreal excluding Regie du lodgement and Ville de Montreal? The reason I am excluding regie and ville de Montreal as I have already filed an official complaint there for the past more than 15 months but still waiting.
Now my landlord is not accepting the rent from me and I have strong reservations the he will go to regie with fabricated stories. Having a look at regie's response to landlords, I am sure his case will be heard far more swiftly than mine. With my limited financial resources I am not able to afford a lawyer and neither I am eligible for legal aid. I have several reports from the city inspectors which favors me however most of the contents of these reports are in French. I also have videos of the problem and photographs along with documentary evidences in terms of email correspondences with my landlord. Its been very recently that my landlord has started turning a deaf ear to my emails. I have already contacted the local tenant's community of my borough as well as have highlighted the problems with the courtesy of media (electronic ).
My limited budget is also one of the reasons that I am reluctant to leave this dwelling. On top of that I am a student and in the mid of my studies. I can't afford to spend my time in activities other than academic as the courses are demanding. I have filed an application for low income housing but the waiting time I am told is more than 5 years.
May I have your guidance in addressing this scenario ? TIA
