I just had a quick question about my little boy who is due in April!
My husband and I are living in Canada (He's waiting for his PR app to go through) and I am due soon. My baby will automatically obtain Canadian citizenship but will he automatically obtain Hong Kong citizenship?
I'm just really confused as I was reading online that they are automatically Chinese citizens when born to a Chinese citizen even outside Canada. D:
But I am aware that you can't have dual citizenship if you're a Chinese citizen (But my husband is a Hong Kong citizen?)
If he can only carry one, we'd much rather prefer Canadian citizenship as we plan to live here.
If anyone has dealt with this before or knows from others' experiences... I'd really appreciate some input!!
