Hi

My mother is a widow; she doesn't have a property in her name and no child except me, who is not working either; somehow, she has enough funds to sponsor her monthly visit. What points should we add for her home ties to India? And what documents to attach as she will be staying only for a month for a grad ceremony.

Thanks in advance.

Mahak

what is the source of funds your mom has to sponsor her visit? what do you do in canada if you arent working? what's your status in canada, how long have you been in canda? has your mom visited canada before? or any other country's travel history?

Thanks for replying.

My mother have good savings from the past, all legit and old funds.

I am working professional in Canada, I am on pgwp and I want her to accompany me on graduation ceremony.

I am here since 1.6 years.

She have a good travel history of New Zealand and UAE.

Please advice.

Thanks!

sorry, when u said "who is not working either; " in initial post, who were you referrign to? yourself or your mother or someone else?

you will need to explain the source of funds for your mother if you are attaching her bank statements, they should be sufficient for her visa, travel expenses, food etc. during her stay. The funds shouldn't be just enough to cover these expenses as that indicates less funds and hence no reason to come back to india.

if ur mom was working earlier, you can mention that the savings were from her job, if you have last few months' payslips attach that, basically justify the source of old funds.

you can attach your bank statements also since you are a working professional but the funds should be enough for your regular expenses and also to support your mom's trip.

since you didnt answer that, I have assumed your mom hasnt visited canada before.

Yes, my mom has a very small business which is no longer in run, and no proof of that business except ITRs. we have bank statements of her.

I have enough funds to sponsor her, but we feel if she shows her own it will have more positive impact.

Yes she never visited Canada before.

is your father alive? Traveling NZ is considered as a good travel history imho. It is a plus point. For graduation ceremony it does not require a month stay maybe 2 weeks. Lesser duration negates that immigrant intent.

more duration means more funds needed in her account.

definitely source of funds, her business was registerterd , old registeration documents? they want to see documentary evidence for whatever statement you show or atleast convincing explanation

write a good cover letter why would she return back to india , maybe confirmed departing ticket might also help.

Dont worry. My suggestion is to write a strong LOE/Invitation letter. Your mother has a genuine purpose to visit i.e. to see you graduate. It all depends upon a good LOE.

Having a travel history surely helps.

Dont book Tickets till you get the visa. it is not required for visa but very important to have a return ticket when you enter Canada.
Explain why your mother wont have any expenses because she is going to stay with you etc.
When you get your visa take short term travel insurance. Also explain that in the letter.

In the Letter explain the trips to UAE and NZ along with entry and exit dates and passport scans. This helps to prove that your mother honored the visa regulations of those countries and she will honor the Canadian Visa.

I wish you all the best. Reach out if you need anything
