Hello, I’m a DSW graduate currently working as a Fulltime Residential Counselor in a group home supporting individuals with developmental disabilities ( children and adults). My job duties matches exactly like home support worker NOCs listed duties but my job title however falls under NOC social and community services. So, please suggest me can I use this Employment letter explaining my job duties to apply for PR in this Pilot Program

So your job offer from your employer will be as a home support worker, and have no mention of counselling or your current NOC? Your employer is eligible too? Assume there would be a wage decrease too given counsellors/social workers assist in helping them with life skills, intakes etc. Your HSW would be cleaning, toileting and feeding those in the group home.

Working in a group home alone would make you ineligible for the pilot. That is a residential facility

Thank you for your reply. In the eligibility criteria I saw on fourth bullet point it says
  • personal care services in residential settings
Does this exclude residential facility as group homes?

Yes. I’m already doing all of these duties like cooking, feeding/serving meal, personal care, laundry, toiletting, bathing, community engagement everything. It’s just the job title idk why is Residential Counsellor. Idc if the wage decreases as far I become eligible to apply for PR. My concern is, with this same job title by elaborating my job duties I’ll still be not eligible to apply??
Do we put NOC CODE by job title or by matching the JOB DUTIES.

thank you for your time reviewing this. Bless

Your job offer must be for HSW not counsellor. You cannot be doing any job duties related to counsellor. So talk to your employer whether they are willing to change your position to a TEER 4 position since they would be the one giving you the job offer and supporting your nomination. Your title would be changed to Home Support Worker and not counsellor.

Believe that this excludes any residential facility providing longterm full-time care. This is really for in home care.
