My husband and I applied for Permanent Residency under the Home Child Care Provider program in 2023. Everything is now complete in our file. Until recently, we thought our 5-month-old daughter would also receive a visa, but after speaking with our consultant, we learned that only my husband and I will receive passport requests and work permits. Our daughter will not receive any kind of visa at this stage.

The consultant mentioned that our daughter’s PR file is still in process along with ours, but we need to go to Canada once our visas are granted. However, our daughter won’t be able to travel with us at that time.

We are now wondering if we can apply for a visitor visa for our daughter so that she can accompany us to Canada. Since her medical exam and all required documents were already submitted with our PR application after her birth, we're hoping this might make it easier for her to get a visitor visa.

We are concerned about whether the visitor visa for our daughter will be approved, as the PR process is still ongoing for her. Can anyone provide advice or share their experience regarding this situation?

You need a new consultant. You will only receive PR as a family not without your child.
