HIV+ Work Permit Renewal/Extension

Hello all,

I’ve been working in Canada since 2016. In this January I just got diagnosed HIV+. I’ve started my treatment and the doctor said in about a month of time the viral load would drop to be undetectable. In June I will need to renew/extend my work permit again. Would this new status of mine affect my work permit renewal/extension?

It is somewhat unclear how what cost threshold is considered for WP vs. PR. In the case of students the cost levels have been lower than the 20K per year. No matter what your viral load your HIV test should show up positive so you will have to be open about your status.
