Hi Friends, I am planning to move by end of November/mid December to Toronto. Is it right time for job seekers? I know December is holiday season but how about November and January? Those who are in Canada right now, please suggest how is job market now. For an IT professional, how much time it may take to get called for an interview? I hear about recession, BREXIT and US elections etc. which will (?) have impact on IT jobs globally. How much Canada job market is affected by these factors? Appreciate suitable guidance.

Well, November/December is a good time to come for seasonal work i.e. retail work is popular due to Christmas but in regards to IT work it doesn't matter when you come, there's always work (except in Alberta who are currently in a recession). Having said that I've only been applying for jobs for 2 weeks and already got 2 interviews and I'm in Calgary. Brexit and the US elections have no impact on the Canadian job market.

I am in Toronto, and I have seen in past couple years that Jan-Feb time is good for IT projects are the budgets for the year are cleared in Oct-Dec of the previous years.
The other good time for IT hiring is Aug-Sep.

I saw many recruiters contacting me in these months.
Hope its helpful.
