Hi there,
We are trying to immigrate to Canada and apply for permanent residence as skilled workers.
I replied to a job offer a few months ago from a Canadian work bank. I have been offered the position as a remote private contractor (working from RSA as a course writer) for a Canadian company. I was hoping for a position at their premises but this is a great opportunity too.
I am trying to figure out if I can apply for permanent residence? or perhaps a work visa that could be extended, and, at a later stage, apply for permanent residence?

The job will be discussed in more detail this coming week. LMI would be possible to get since the job was advertised and no other Canadian citizen was found suitable for the position.

If we can't go this way then we will have to try another pnp that allows us to apply without a job offer.
I would SO much appreciate any clarification/advice/suggestion!
(I can provide more details to clarify the situation)
Thank you in advance :)

The job you have now really gives you no benefits over any other kind of foreign experience. Since you are working remotely, it will be classified as foreign and not Canadian work experience.

If your employer can get an LMIA, that would change things. Note that your employer will most likely need to advertise the job again according to the LMIA advertising requirements.
