Hi Sir/Madam,

I just wanted to ask if i am eligible to apply for visitor's visa to canada even if i am unemployed? i do not have any source of income as well,my canadian friend is inviting me to come over to canada as a tourist.he will shoulder all the expenses and i am going to stay to his house in case i get there. i am married but not living with my wife anymore,we do not have any communication also. i am a college graduate,i was a former OFW. i worked in brunei for 5 years and 5 months. i do not have bank account as well. does anyone who could help me or could give me an idea on what should i do? hope to hear from you soon,thank you so much!

Its better you dont apply, I see red flag all over.
You are unemployed, so you dont have any source of income
You dont have any funds in your bank account to support yourself or plane ticket
You dont have any ties to your home country
How can a visa officer be convinced that you are going to Canada for purpose of visit?

This is what you need to do realistically, get a job have some stable income, show funds in your bank and you can support yourself. Show ties to your country, property, bank balance, full time job etc

Hi,thanks for the reply! even if my friend will shoulder all the expenses,like airticket,pocket money,housing and all the things i needed in canada? i have a strong ties here,i have my family here so i am definitely sure that i am coming back here in philippines. what if i open a bank account and the money that i will deposit there is came from my friend in canada? how much do i need in my bank account just in case?

You have to show enough "ties" - a good job from a reputable company, family, bank account, business/properties in your name, good travel history from countries that require visa to enter. There are no fool proof formula and you can only hope and pray it gets approved. From the Philippines, show at least the equivalent of 10K CAD and it should be an account that has been opened long enough to show you were able to save as much, not something that was opened one or two months before you send in your application.
