Hi Qarax,

I have a question and i need an answer from you. I have been reading forums and I saw your the best in giving tips and good answers from some people in the forums. I need your help in my case. We applied for Canadian PR on Jan 11, 2010 and sent the completed documents June 6, 2010. Our file changed to in process Aug 2011 and transferred to NYVO on Oct 14 , 2011. Based on e-cas our file was reviewed and started processing on Dec 15, 2011, my address disappeared between Dec 20-25 , 2011 and yesterday we got our medical request and RPRF and also, our address reappeared yesterday. My question is this, I am 2months pregnant and I don't know if we can do the medical or if we have to delay it and inform the NYVO? if so, is it possible to keep the medical form and use it after my delivery on Aug 15 , 2012. Please advise me what to do.

Your repsponse is greatfully appreciated. thanks you.

thanks,
RJ

U could complete ur meds by taking the X-rays under a 'Protective Shield'... Medical Specialists' vouch for it's safety. However, we might not indulge in this adventure for obvious reasons.

And if u do not take the X-rays, even if u go with the other tests, ur file gets pretty much stuck for want of that latter.

If u do want to postpone ur meds, u'd require to turn down the meds offer & notify ur VO asap [with appropriate reasoning albeit]. In such a case u'd not be able to use the same med forms later - but have to await issuance of fresher ones [for the entire family, including the newborn's].

Congratulations for the soon to join "lit'le bundle of joy" in ur life !

Yep...
Dont risk the baby.

It is always difficult to make accurate assessment of Radiation delivered at any particular moment, depends on the skills of the technician/equipment etc.

THE RULE OF THE THUMB is to postpone anything that is Elective...when the docs want to do a procedure like X-Ray, it is measured against the risk to mom vs the baby, and hence the permission to go ahead and do the procedure.

Post pone it and wait till baby is delivered.....My advice, I wont do it if it was me. Take Qorax's advice and inform VO and take appointment/meds later.

Remmember the early you are in Pregnancy, the more the chance of any Mutation.

Thank you so much. We are going to postponed the medical and will do it after delivery. We will write a letter to NYVO to inform them about my pregnancy and see what their going to say.

You're such a great man..
