Hi! I have a post grad work permit but I would like to know if I could apply under CEC later under this situation:

I graduated from hotel management but there is not a lot of work for that, so I moved to Grande Prairie Alberta for work.

I have two job offers one for well testing operator assistant (falls under NOC 8232) and the other one for insulation (NOC 7293) both of them are 12 hours of work. For well testing assistant operator they train me and the insulator one I would be apprentice, I would like to know if they qualify after a year of working to apply under CEC and if it does not matter that is not related to what I studied.

one more think , I read that you can apply after a year of experience (1380 hours) but with this job you make over 1400 hours in 6 months, so could I apply when I have the 1400 hours or I still have to wait a year eventhough I already did the hours.

Thank you very much for your help guys it would be appreciated :)

For the first question, I think you can apply for CEC after 1 year's work even your education doesn't match your career. For the second question, I think you have to work at least 12 months even you have lots of over time hours. In other words, you must satisfy both A. 1380 hours and B. 12 months of work.

Agreed. It doesn't matter if your employment doesn't match your education - you can still apply.

You need 12 months of experience to apply. You cannot apply after six months.
