What will happen if I forgot to include a copy of proof of residency on my citizenship application? Would they send my whole application back or they would just email me and ask for a copy.

What do you mean by proof of residency? They wan't your PR card photocopy only. Is that you mean? Extra info can seriously delay someone's application.

Yes sorry that’s what I meant. When I was doing my citizenship application I’ve only based everything on the checklist and it did not indicate there that you have to show your PR card.

I don't think your Permanent Resident Card is required. Check the links above. You can use it for step 4, but you can use other items for UCI too.
