So I just found out today, because apparently I didn't realize this, but my status in Canada is expired by over the 90 days. I didn't realize that it expired when my OWP was sent back, rejected because of funds. Had I realized this literally a month ago I would have been fine. I'm so mad at myself for not realizing this after I had thought I had done so much research and knew everything I could.
So now, I am left with the dilemma or either leaving Canada and hoping they let me back in since my PR papers are in and I have my AOR and whatnot because that would essentially restart my Visitor status here which in turn would give me the ability to get my OWP. Or my other option is staying in Canada until I receive my AIP which would mean no work permit for at the very least another 8 months. I'm not sure if my spouse and I can survive off just his income for another 8 months or so.
I guess what I'm needing help with if finding out if anyone else has been in the same boat as me and what they did. I'm at a loss right now. I'm not sure what I should do. My husband doesn't have his passport so if I go to the boarder and leave and come back, I would have to do it alone unless I can convince his family to come with me somehow.
