Before my work permit expired, I applied for an extension as a visitor. It is over 25 days of waiting now for the result if approved or not. Now, I really have to go back to my country in 3 weeks time. Can I travel home even if I do not have a status? Will I not be apprehended at the immigration at the airport? Thank you

As you applied to change your status to visitor before your work permit expired, you have valid Implied Status.

There is no immigration check when you leave the country. So nobody at the airport will care what your status is, you will be able to leave no problem.
